In the blink of an eye

It's finally here folks, we are a few short weeks away from the beginning of a new school year. Over the next few weeks I'm sure your days are filled with two-a-days, orientations, back to school shopping, and last resort vacations. Kids are miserable at the thought of their summer break coming to an end while parents sit back and silently rejoice (okay only some parents....I celebrate in their face!). For many students this is the beginning to an end of their high school careers. 12 years of school behind them as they start this journey to see all of the hard work they have put in pay off. Having two daughters whom have already completed this part of their journey in life I know all too well just how rewarding it is getting to this point.

Your senior year will be filled with lots of milestones including choosing which college you want to attend, or which branch of the military you would like to join. Many of you may still even be in the process of deciding what you want to do with the rest of your lives and that is totally okay. You will likely change your mind a few times about your future, well past when you graduate.

Set some goals, whether they are life goals or weekly goals, and work hard to accomplish them. You may stumble at times, but sometimes it's good to stumble. Life is nothing short of one giant learning experience, the trick is learning to use those lessons to be a better you. Strive to excel in your studies to the best of your ability but don't forget to make time for yourself as well. A burnt out senior is no fun for anyone. Enjoy your senior year because it will be gone in the blink of an eye leaving you to wish you had done things differently.

As a photographer one of my favorite things to do is Senior sessions. Each year I look for deserving seniors to be a part of my rep program. The 2018 program is already off to a great start with 7 seniors representing 6 schools. Over the next few weeks you will have the opportunity to get to know a little about Kayla, Madisyn, Ray, Katelyn, Katelynn, Megan, and Michaela. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to get to know these young adults. I find it so rewarding to get to see where they want their dreams to take them and then years later seeing them fulfill those dreams (old or new).
