My story:

So I totally ruined my proposal. Jay and I had been dating for about 5 or 6 months when he popped the question. I kinda had a feeling that he was wanting to propose but I wasn't 100% sure. He takes me to the San Jacinto Monument and Battleground (one of my favorite places to go at the time), and he sits me down on the steps. We're sitting there talking and he jumps up saying he thinks he left his radio on in the truck. I knew he didn't because I turned it off myself so I insist that he didn't but he keeps pushing it that he needs to go check to make sure "I don't want to go back to a dead battery". So now I'm getting annoyed because I feel like he doesn't believe me. He runs back but quickly returns confirming what I had already known. More annoyance because duh and he's just standing there looking at me like an idiot....just staring at me! So I look at him and it just comes out of my mouth, "Are you going to propose to me or what!" 😖 I couldn't stop it. He looked at me, kinda shocked kinda defeated pulls out the ring and says, "wow, that is what I have been trying to do. That is why I needed to go back to the truck, so I could get the ring." I felt like a total butthole. But he sat down next to me and still asked my stubborn behind to be his wife, and here we are 20 yrs later and I still have my best friend by my side. Thank God he didn't run for the hills when he had the chance because I don't know where I would be today if it weren't for him.
